Undergarment suggestions

I had originally wanted to wear a corset with my dress, but I don’t know if that will work right with the dress that I bought (a strapless ball gown). I loved my dress when I tried it on in the store and bought it, but when I tried it on at home 3 weeks later I felt like I looked fat in it D: I know that probably sounds crazy (at a size 2 after all) but I’ve had body image issues for most of my life.

Anyway, I don’t know if a corset would add too much bulk to the top of the dress, or if it would help with the problem. Should I just go with a regular strapless bra?

Im at a loss and I feel like I’m going crazy. It’s mathematically impossible to be a size 2 AND look fat, but it feels like something is off about it.

Maybe it's the location? I know that trying dresses on in the bridal salon vs home can be quite different! Lighting and just the feel of home can sometimes change things. Give it another go trying it on in an open space, maybe a friends house or back at the salon?

The dress is at my FIL's house now so my FH can't see it, I'll have to see if I can go over there and try it on again. It was just a really disappointing feeling when I tried it on and didn't instantly fall in love again. My parent's paid for the dress so I couldn't even begin to think about getting another one, so I'm going to have to fall back in love with this one. Hopefully a different setting will help. I can't get it tailored for a long time, but I'm hoping that helps too.

Thank you. I've been doing my best with that, but it can be difficult at times. I keep reminding myself of how beautiful I felt in the dress when I tried it on in the store, and how much I was gushing about it for about 2 weeks after I ordered it.

Oh my god girl you look fantastic. Sometimes it's so hard to love ourselves so remember that you're a flower - and flowers are all beautiful in their own way (and they grow in unexpected places and forms)

You can get a corset back placed on it and that'll look great with it. I tried on a similar dress and it's nice but I think it needs it final tailoring to sit right. You can probably feel that it's sitting not quite right and just need the tailor to fit it. You look great in it!

I have been considering putting a corset back in. Right now it has a zipper with fake buttons on the back that stop at the waist, but I think I would probably like the corset back better. I'm mainly concerned about how much the alterations might cost to accomplish that.
