Undergarment advice- plus size girl

Alyssa, on June 10, 2019 at 11:48 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

So I need help deciding and a place to start looking for what brand/kind of spanks, under dress wear, etc is the best. My dress has a corset back, so that sucks my waist in nice and tight. My issue is I am a plus size girl and I have the droopy mom pooch (if you guys know what I mean). You cannot see it while I'm in my dress unless I turn to the side. I need help with something to help tame the mom pooch and with my hips. Any kind of advice on brands/styles will help!

I would check out the ones that are like bicycle shorts. Something like this: https://www.spanx.com/shapewear/thinstincts-mid-thigh-short

WOW, Alyssa! Your dress is so beautiful!! It looks amazing on you!Smiley love Did you have to try on many dresses until you found the perfect one?

As Hannah suggested, Spanx is a great shapewear brand and actually comes in so many different shapes that I'm sure you will find one that is super comfortable with your dress.

You could also go into a local department or lingerie store to seek help from a shop assistant. This way you may be able to buy a few different options and try them on with your actual dress to see what works best for you.

I think you look wonderful in the dress as is and don’t really notice anything. But as for spanx from another plus size girl, I got a pair that basically goes from my bra to my knees (I’m short lol) and it’s good. I do hate wearing it though mainly for bathroom reasons. I was thankful that my seamstress said I didn’t need it when I went for alterations, but I will still get a pair of shorts ones that don’t go as high up my back

Thank you! I tried on probably around 5-7 dresses before this one. This was my second shopping trip. Before the dress was even fully on, I knew it was the one. That sounds cheesy but totally knew it when the consultant helped me. I think Spanx will be the answer there.

    Hey fellow December bride!

Check out Kohl's- they have lots of options there. I picked up a couple of pieces from there and haven't been disappointed since.

I am wondering the same thing, I have spanks, but spanx roll. I have a perfect waist cincher on my dress, and an all lace back but I have the mom pooch as well. I wish I could find a belly cincher like my waist cincher LOL
