Underage favors

Dalia, on May 15, 2019 at 12:28 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

Hello! So my FH's 4 siblings and my two little cousins are not getting the same favors as those who are over 21 since we are giving away mini champagne bottles. I was thinking of going to Michael's to buy toys for my two little cousins and make a basket, so they will be taken care of. But I don't know what to do about his 3 brothers and sister. They range from 15 to 19 years of age, two coming from his dad and the other two from his mum.

Please let me know of your ideas!! Thank you, xx

Personally, I wouldn’t worry about getting any of them anything. The little ones won’t even notice if they don’t get a favor and the older ones shouldn’t expect you to get them something. A favor is just supposed to be a generic little thank you for coming, you don’t have to cater to certain people.

I'm not sure if you have 99 cent only stores in your area, but our local stores here have mini sparking apple cider botttles. They look just like champagne and they are delicious. I can remember my family getting me cider for holidays when I was a kid and I thought it was the most delicious drink eevvvvveeerr!

I just wouldn’t get them anything. They’re not going to miss them.

Originally my mom thought we'd get them a different candy and I said okay but now she said everyone just gets the same thing. I am like I don't think all of them can eat the jordan almonds... Not to mention my one cousin has 3 kids. I said so they really need FIVE canning jars of candy for the whole family? Idk I think that's a waste. I will talk to her about it again, but then again, they don't have to take 5 jars if they don't want to. I wouldn't really. I would think chocolate and something that is chew-able for little kids wouldn't be a bad idea if you really want to get them something!!
