Usually dresses are not a white dress that has been dyed. They are made from already colored fabric because dye jobs dont distribute color evenly.

I worked in bridal for three years, and sold a good number of dresses in colors other than ivory/blush/champagne. Pale blue was pretty popular; the Beryl by David Tutera with Mon Cheri (now Martin Thornberg for Mon Cheri) in sea mist is a good example of that. We sold that particular dress in blue for a number of beach or winter weddings.

I also sold a good number of dresses with black accents; the Cosette by Maggie Sottero and 9150 by Allure Bridals were both sold multiple times at our store.

However, my all time favorite colored wedding dress I ever sold was actually an evening gown in cranberry red. The bride was having a winter wedding and had always wanted a red wedding gown, and she got the a Rachel Allan Couture dress, style 8071:

I never saw the pictures from her wedding, but she looked gorgeous in her gown. She also saved a good bit of money since it was an evening gown, it was under $800, compared to our wedding gowns which were $1k-$2k. All these dresses are older, because this was over five years ago now, but for the Beryl and Cosette, there are lots of pictures online of real weddings with those dresses that might be worth checking out!

OH MY GOODNESS! That deep red gown!!!! Stunning! That pale blue one is very pretty too!!!! I have seen the black accented ones...I think I will stay away from those. lol

If you’re looking for a darker color like that, I highly recommend checking out some of the couture prom/pageant brands like Rachel Allan or Sherri Hill, especially in more structured fabrics like mikado or satin- still gives it a very formal bridal look but so many more colors available and at great great prices compared to bridal!
