Uncomfortable dress

Rachel, on March 2, 2022 at 9:23 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 2 12
Is anyone else’s wedding dress super uncomfortable? I just got mine back from alterations and it’s so tight and uncomfy! I talked to my seamstress and she said it needs to be that tight since is strapless, to hold it up. Idk I just feel like I need to get a second dress just to change into cause I can hardly sit down let alone dance! I didn’t realize how uncomfortable it was in the sample I tried on. Is this common to have an uncomfy dress?

Go elsewhere asap to get it fixed. The dress should be snug but never uncomfortable. This seamstress is lying to you and if your dress is uncomfortable then it’s not the right one for you.

When I started trying on dresses, I could not believe how heavy and uncomfortable they were. I tried on so many and narrowed it down to ones that were more comfy and not strapless. Never been into strapless dresses.
I found one that I loved and plan to have the train removed because it’s too heavy. Don’t want to be weighed down and be able to easily move.
Can you have small straps added so it doesn’t have to be held up on it’s own?

Strapless dresses usually having boning in them to keep them where they are supposed to be. It doesn't need to squeeze your guts out to do that. Have it let out a smidge Smiley smile

You should not be uncomfortable. My dress was strapless, it did have a corset, but I could definitely breathe. And sit down.

I’m panicking now cause I can sit down but only if I tilt to one side and my last fitting is on the 16th. My wedding is a month from today. All my friends say that it looks good but I can’t tell if I look like a stuffed sausage. Do you think it looks to tight??? Uncomfortable dress 1

I have definitely seen dresses that look too tight, but yours does not. It looks beautiful. I guess not breathing helps have a snatched waist? So I would see if they can let it out even an inch. If not, then a reception dress might be in order. Take as many pictures as you can in this one and change when you can't take it anymore.

Thank you so much! I was SO worried it looked too tight. I can handle the uncomfortable feeling, but if it looked bad in my pictures, I’d be devastated. I am ordering some cheaper dresses off lulus to hopefully change into when we start to dance. I’m sad my dress is so uncomfortable cause I paid so much for it and I’ll never be able to wear it again, but at this point I just need to do what I have to do I can dance and breathe lol thank you for your insight

My seamstress told me I had to pull my skirt up a bit in order to then sit down. I thought that was ridiculous at first but... because of the stiffer material (not stretchy) that is exactly what I ended up doing. I hoisted the skirt portion of the dress up from my thigh area so a lot of my leg/ankle was showing and then I was able to sit down the day of my Wedding. I hope this makes sense! You look absolutely stunning by the way!

The dress looks STUNNING and definitely not like an overstuffed sausage, but only you can know if you were too uncomfortable or not! If you can't have it let out a smidge, I'd do as the other posters suggest, and wear it until you've had enough then go change!
