Unbridal party

Christine, on April 1, 2018 at 9:08 AM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 6
Hi! I'be decided to not have a traditional big bridal party to keep costs down and to keep things simple and also my fiance doesn't have a huge group of friends like I do. But I want to involve my closest friends in some way without making them buy matching dresses. Anyone have any ideas?

Tell them to have fun with it! If you have a color scheme tell them what those are and have them work together to see what would look nice. You can give them tips of if they can do all long dresses or light colored or dark colored. They all can not match but still look good as a group. I’m only having a MOH (no bridesmaids) and I’m telling her to wear whatever color/style that makes her feel beautiful.

Thanks you!! That's what I'm kind of thinking! I was also thinking their husbands could escort them down the aisle as well.

I'm a big fan of the mismatched bridesmaids look. You can have everyone choose a dress in a single color, a palette of colors, or just give them free reign to choose any color they like (that will hopefully compliment each other). Depending on what they have in their closets already, they may not need to buy a new dress at all.

We're just having my sister and FH's brother as our bridal party, but we tried to incorporate friends elsewhere. His closest friend is our officiant (before anyone comments about that, he's experienced in performing weddings), and a few of my friends are artistic so one offered to draw a personalized map of our location and one will be designing the henna for my hands (marrying into an Indian family). I also invited my friends to get ready together beforehand and told them what color my sister would be wearing so they could get coordinating dresses if they wanted.
