Hi all. I need some opinions. I’ve seen two seamstresses and both say the chest area can not be taken in. I know they’re right, but it feels awful, and doesn’t look right to me. There’s so much gaping between the fabric and my skin. How bad does it look? Do you think double sided fashion tape will help?
For context I’ve breastfed three kids and my boobs are just not being held in place because of how ill fitting the chest area is.

It honestly doesn't look bad at all. I didn't notice it at all and still don't really notice it after viewing the picture. You could probably try the double sides tape to see if it will help. But seriously, the dress looks fine. It gorgeous!

I can't tell that there are issues, but if you aren't comfortable... that is the issue.

Could the back be brought in at all to make it tighter across the chest (I have no idea how sewing works... just trying to brainstorm).

It is a beautiful dress. I hope you can find a way to feel more comfortable in it!

Beautiful dress! Maybe boob tape can help give them that extra support. And maybe can they add in a tie in the middle part of your back? Like to pull the chest fabric in a little bit. Something similar as the top tie. Hopefully that makes sense. You look very beautiful! But I totally understand wanting to feel comfortable too

Since your dress is backless the only option would be to temporarily remove the lace on the chest and reduce the size of the cups. I would assume they’d cut the cup and then sew it smaller. Then put the lace overlay back on.

My first seamstress was going to do this. She was also going to add padded cups to fill it out. I ended up going w a different seamstress who took it in from the back. But it could be worth a shot exploring this route.

My daughter is a DD, so the last thing she expected to need in her dress was extra padding, but her dress was loose in the chest and gapped a little, but fit well in the ribcage. Her dress had lots of built in structure, so attempting to take it in would have involved a LOT of alterations -- with no guarantee that she'd be happy with the fit. Her seamstress recommended adding two sets of padded cups to her dress: larger ones below her natural chest to push her girls up and then a set of smaller ones on the outside top edge of the bodice to fill-the-gap and push her breasts inward. The result was that the padding held her in very securely -- lifting her chest both up and in. Her dress had spaghetti straps and was about as low as yours is in the back. She looked absolutely stunning and was a dancing fool at the reception, and the entire time she was held securely in her dress.

If you’re conscious about it, you could try fashion tape and/or boob tape. Are the seamstresses not able to remove the nude triangle in the v neck to help with gaping? Sometimes closing or shrinking the v can help a ton

I think you look amazing, but if you don’t feel amazing that is the problem. There is little that boob tape can’t fix in my opinion.
