You could have some banners and stuff to spruce it up or maybe even a plastic back drop

Look up how to make a big screen kind of. You can make it out of wood or pvc and drape fabric over it.

For our head table backdrop, I purchased a photography backdrop frame off of Amazon (~$30) and added white curtains, lights, and greenery. You could certainly get away with less than that here also! It was easy to pack and didn't require DIY ahead of time.
