I saw someone on here doing the same thing and they were getting cards already made from the cancer foundation/organization. Maybe you could do the same. It would make it legit too. I don't think it's cheap, but some people may be skeptical about you actually donating. Those cards would shut them up.

PS It is not cheap...with the economy the way it is, charities are not getting the same sponsorship from corporations and with everyone having tighter budgets, their funds are decreasing. I think it's a great idea. If that is what you want to do, don't let others talk you out of it Smiley smile

A donation in your name has been made to the X cancer society in loving memory of Carlas Aunt X. This monetary gift will help provide lifesaving care to those in need.

    Or maybe

A monetary favor has been given to the...

We're also doing a donation and I have yet to figure the part out about how to let guests know. We're donating to the American Stroke Association. Last Nov my grandpa and FH's cousin suffered pretty severe strokes. Thank God both survived and have made tremendous recoveries although neither has 100%. Both will be at the wedding and we are so thankful for that. I think it's more meaningful to donate to a cause that is close to your heart than to spend a bunch of money on favors guests might not even take w/them or will take and toss away once the get home.

We are going to do the same thing. People just end up throwing away wedding favors anyway, so why not make the money go to a good cause?

I don't think it's cheap at all. I would just add something on the card about it being in memory of your Aunt that died from cancer.

Its def not cheap! I worked for a wedding planner for years and tons a brides do it because I mean how many bottle stoppers and coasters can you keep giving to people?! It adds a personal touch and lets people leave without another favor for the junk drawer.

You can also attach it to some type of cookie or candy if you feel like you'd still like something to give them.
