Uggggh....Bridal Shower Invites Gone Wrong

dme_cjm, on June 30, 2010 at 10:39 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

So here's my dilemma....My MOH is throwing my shower for me the end of July. I gave her names and addresses and she did the invites all I had to do was slap a stamp on and toss them in the mailbox. I have gotten quite a few calls this week because apparently the invites say "Bachelorette Party" when it is a bridal shower and everyone was confused as to if it was a shower or bach party. Then I had a friend call to tell me sorry she missed my shower, but by time she received the invite, she couldnt get off work bc of it being a workday...her invite said JUNE 25 instead of JULY 25 and I havent talked to everyone yet to see if anyone actually had the wrong date and showed up on the wrong day. What would be the best way to handle this? Should I just call around, or just mail out new ones with and explanation something along the lines of "Due to a printing error on a few invitations, I am mailing out new ones just to make sure everyone has the correct information"....

Oh man! Sorry that happened. How many people did invites go out to? I would try to just call everyone and explain the error. Smiley sad

It might be better to call/email everyone at this point because it is getting closer. Then you could make sure that everyone actually received theirs.

I would do both, I'm a everyone needs to know person and just for my bday out to the bar I rememinded my friends about 3 times before through email. I would call whoever you can and let them know there was a mix up and that you will be mailing a new one so they expect it but also include the words on the invite about the error as you said. =) hope that helps, just what I would do with my crazy controlling personality

Oh boy.. what a mix up. I guess call everyone, maybe not everyone got the wrong ones. Did you ask your MOH what happened?

Around 20 households...I don't have everyone's numbers, I could get them but it would take a few days..but at the same time if they are like me..i need to have it in writing to remember where and when or you might as well forget it....i just dont want to seem tacky....

If all of your guests that you want to attend the Bridal Shower are internet savvy then to save money recreate it using www.pingg.com or a site similar! It will get to them instantly and will still be nice and their free!! No Stamps! But don't stress or be mad. Its an error but a easy fixable one! Hope this helps and remember to enjoy the process!!

All MOH had to say was "are you serious"......

@urdream-unfortunately not all are internet savvy...but that would be a great idea.

I guess I will call everyone in the morning that I have numbers for then mail out quick ones tomarrow.....I just feel like loser having to resend invites to my shower Smiley sad

Back to what I said... do both... send out new invites now so no times wasted... and then get to calling. that way by the time you get the extra numbers you need the invites would already be in the mail, and also if you dont get a hold of the few #'s you have atleast sent out the new invite
