Uber or Lyft for weddinng transportation?

Danielle, on March 14, 2019 at 4:16 PM Posted in Planning 0 16
Has anyone used Uber or Lyft for weddinng transportation? Our vendor canceled on us and every other place we have tried to book is either booked or way too expensive because they’re so far out of town. I’m freaking out!

I haven't personally used either before, but I have heard a lot of people recommend them for wedding transportation.

I planned on using uber for my wedding transportation. It made the most sense for us since we didn't originally include transportation in our budget.

For who? Your entire guest list or just you & groom?

This is what we’re doing! We’re putting a $15 Uber gift card in each of our hotel welcome bags.

My dad doesn’t drink so I may pay to have him rent a nice suv to drive the BP downtown after the wedding, then everyone can uber to home/hotel. If not, we’ll probably all just uber. The shuttle services in our area are all over $300 for at least 3 hours and we’d only need it for maybe an hour. Doesn’t seem worth it.

I love that idea!!! I’m not sure if $15 would cover round trip for us but it would help!

Our venue is less than a mile away so we’re lucky that round trip rides are cheap! But you can totally get them in any denomination that works for you!

I havent used it personally but I have heard good things about it. I actually signed up to drive with them and if I was asked I would love to drive for a wedding. It would be so exciting.

I’ve set up Lyft ride credits for work related events and they’re super easy to use. You create a code (could be your wedding hashtag or anything you prefer) and then you offer a credit of up to X amount of dollars (you can make sure it’s set to cover their whole costs). The nice thing about this is, while you do have to pre pay upfront, within a week or two after your event, they fully refund you for any ride credit that wasn’t redeemed. That can save you some serious money if you don’t mind paying ahead with a CC on the front end.

For our wedding party, we're renting 2 large SUVs for the whole weekend. The guys can ride in one and the ladies in another.
Our venue provides transportation for me and my FH.
The limos, trolleys, and party buses were all $600+ for 3-4hrs. It's just too much.
Thought about Uber/Lyft but we want the security of knowing we have a vehicle(s) waiting for us.

I am going to do Uber black for my wedding. Renting a limousine was not a priority in our budget.

I think Uber Events might be right up your alley. I've only used regular Uber/Lyft but this looks like a great solution, especially if you live in an area with a lot of Uber/Lyft availability.

We will. We have an hour drive to stay near the airport as we’re flying out the next morning. I’m leaving our vehicles for family members to use while they’re in town. (They will leave our van at the airport for our return. It’s a win win).

Right now the plan is to summon an Uber or Lyft to get us there when we leave the reception. Wedding is a week from tomorrow so probably what we are sticking with lol

That's such a neat and modern idea! And way cheaper than the original vendor!! They are pretty reliable...
