Uber Events?

Amanda, on January 11, 2017 at 8:08 AM Posted in Planning 0 14

Has anyone ever used Uber Events or something of that sort? Trying to save by not using a bus. Thanks!

You can set up an event in which you pay for people's Uber rides. Is that what you are trying to for your guests?

Following. I need to know if you pay for the ride or do the guest get a discounted price on the ride.

I've been to events that had a special codes that gave me a free ride from the event.

    Found the answers!

You choose the time, location, and value of the pass. Then you share them with your guest. They use the special code and pay the difference of their ride.

You only pay for rides that people use!

You can pay any percentage up to 100% of your guests rides if they have the code.

My venue just suggested this, we turned it down. They will have enough cars show up at a time to pick up an amount of people you gave them. Here why I don't like it, that morning I want to be with my girls and FH, I want everyone comfortable and having fun, I find it awkward trying to break everyone up in groups and sticking them into strangers cars. That just my opinion tho.

ETA: the girls are driving to the venue so all couples in the wedding will have a car to get home, the bus is picking the guys up and bringing them to the venue where we will do first look, then it will take us all to our picture destination and then bring us back to the venue when done. We are only doing a 3 hour package

Uber Events is fantastic. You can pay a % percent of the ride, or the entire amount up to a certain $. You can give the guests the paper with the little code in their welcome bag for an out of town wedding. Very convenient and saves a lot of $$

Thank you ladies!! I just can't justify spending over $1,000 for a school bus!

We are using this. You set the address, approximate number of quests, date, number of rides per guest, and max amount per guest and get a code to share for payment. They have to enter as a promo code.

Just remember that there is an administrator fee depending on your area. Ours was $50 just to set up the code.

Did you end up using UberEvents? How did it go? Do they reserve drivers at all or is it just like using Uber any other time?
