Typical prices for DJ's??

SuttonToBePerez, on May 26, 2017 at 10:04 PM Posted in Planning 0 13

What are the typical prices for DJ's?? They have seemed to range while I'm doing my research. Also, do you typically have them for the ceremony too, or just the reception?

Should it be more if you ask for a bilingual DJ?

Sorry...DJ research is new for me!

ETA: Location is about 45 minutes north of Dallas.

Like every other service, it's highly dependent on geography and talent. Most of my couples who have a DJ have them for the ceremony too.

In my area, good ones are ****. (NJ/NYC)

    Definitely depends on the region.

We're using a company in the greater Philadelphia area and their DJs range from about $800-$1400.

We're paying $1250 which includes up lighting, and he'll play the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception.

I don't know anything about bilingual needs, sorry!

Okay, I have a quote for $1200...well, they have a special for that price now for an unlimited amount of hours? I just didn't know if that was average. We live about 45 minutes north of Dallas.

Ours is $1550 for a ceremony, 1 hour cocktail and 4 hour reception. They weren't the cheapest but they were personally recommended to me by multiple people and their reviews are impeccable (and there are hundreds of them). When we went to meet them in person before signing we sat and talked with the guy for like an hour and it was nonstop fun. We've requested him specifically and I have no doubt in my mind they'll be worth every penny. Smiley smile

    This is upstate NY/Capital region.

Depends on a lot of variables. Use the vendor tap and search by region and your budget. We are in Denver and have seen some from under $1,000 to $3,000 (and probably higher, but I don't need to see those!)

Ours is 850 for cocktail and reception with 2 DJ's. If we wanted them for the ceremony too I think he quoted us 1050, but we have a vocalist for our ceremony so we won't be using them (we think).

Midwest here & seen most that start our around $1,250. We were able to take advantage of a special the DJ was running & also gave FH a Veterans discount, as well. We are using them for the ceremony & reception.

I would change the name of the post to include "Calling Dallas Area Brides"

Comb through the vendor tab a little and see what else you can find and put together like 5 of 6 top contenders and see what you feel comfortable in within a range of price options.
