types of bars

Ms.FutureFord, on April 15, 2015 at 5:13 PM Posted in Planning 0 28

So on my search for venues I have noticed that (obviously) the prices for types of bars are VERY different. What type of bar will/did you have and what did you include in it. Did you have signature drinks? thanks ladies!

I was thinking of having a beer, wine and champagne bar but FH loves jager and i like vodka i just dont want our guest getting wasted, especially since i have family that dont know how to limit themselves. I was also thinking of doing the beer wine and champagne bar with a signature drink for each of us but IDK yet. since FH and I got together I have been drinking a lot of wine and champagne ( every time we get together at his grandmas or aunts, both are big wine and champagne drinkers) not that i mind, i prefer it to hard alcohol. lol but i know some of our friends and depending on FH mood he would like hard alcohol or beer, so im torn....

My venue lets me bring in my own liquor and bartender so I'm having an open bar.

In our destination wedding we are able to do open bar and provide our own bottles but for an extra fee. Which would still make the open bar cheaper than having them provide the booze on an open bar.

Same as Julia T. except we're using the caterer's bartender.

    OHHHHHHH, that's what she meant!

I saw "types of bars" and was like, "ok, so like.... irish pub... sports bar... martini bar... bar and grill..."

@julia i wiish i could find a venue like that, unless one of my 2 favorites are this way. ive yet to go look at them yet due to conflicting schedules with my mom and my grandmas since i want them all to check out the venue with me and help me remember things i may forget to ask about or look into. plus my mom is a thousand times better with contracts and wording than i am

FH and I are not having a signature drink. Our bar include the lower shelf liquors (vodka, gin, rum, peach schnapps, and something else.... I forget at the moment) in addition to soda, wine, beer, and coffee.

Edited: All of the above is included in the original reception package. It wouldn't be any less if we opted out of serving alcohol. For top shelf liquors, it's $8 more per person.

We're doing a full unlimited open bar. Beer, wine, liquor, liqueurs, & martinis...I wanted blended drinks but the bar is a portable so it doesn't have access to a sink to wash the blender each time....I am having a signature drink on the bar as well.

We are doing rail drinks (no top shelf booze), domestic tap beer, and house wine. There is a full bar in the restaurant if someone wanted something we arent providing...but I think all of the people we invited will be fine with what we are providing. Coffee, soda, or milk is included in our dinner price as well. We are paying by the drink - $5.00 per drink plus tip.

Full Open bar. My venue is pretty much their way or the highway. That means open bar and strolling dinner. If you don't like it then don't book with them. Seeing as there were only 2 dates available for weekends NEXT summer when we booked, I would say they are doing just fine with that policy. ETA: I work for a wedding planner who is a preferred vendor so we got a "frozen drink" bar thrown in for free; daquiris, margaritas, pina coladas.

Full open bar is included in our venue, along with very free flowing wine during dinner. We are also considering instead of offering champagne to toast, having a small glass of Belgian beer that enjoyed right after our engagement.

We're doing beer, sangria and margaritas plus a champagne toast. Felt like those went well with Mexican food.
