Two Separate Events

Valerie, on March 20, 2018 at 10:33 AM Posted in Account Support 0 9

Hi, All!

Our wedding was December 13th, 2017, but our wedding reception is this coming April 14th. Is there any way to create a second event, without losing the information and vendors from my first one? Help, please!

Hi Valerie! What are you trying to set up the two events for? You can add multiple events on to your wedding website, and guests can also RSVP for multiple event options. You can also add multiple events in the guest list tool to create multiple guest lists, and create seating charts for each event. Is there something else you're trying to do?

Yes! I was trying to have two separate vendor lists/recommendations, because we're going in a different direction for our reception, & I wanted to be able to keep my reviews/thank you's straight. I had also been hoping to generate a second checklist, since the events are four months apart.

I don't think there is. I was looking into the same thing, as I'm having an engagement party that will essentially be a pre-wedding reception. I couldn't find any way besides creating another account

Hi Valerie! There's no way to create two separate vendor lists, but I'll definitely pass along the feedback. I have 4 hired venues in my Vendor Manager (bridal shower venue, rehearsal dinner venue, ceremony venue, reception venue) and didn't have trouble keeping them straight!

You can add items to your checklist - which would be the easiest way for you to manage your different events! Take some time to scan through the existing checklist, and add a duplicate task for the things you'll need to do twice. You can add a tag like "Book your caterer - engagement party" and adjust the due date as needed.

Cripes. Okay. I don't trust me to keep the checklist straight, (i.e. Did I duplicate everything that I need to? Is that from THIS event, or the LAST one???), so I may just make a duplicate account, instead. That sounds simpler. Thank you, ladies!

I had this issue with my DW also as we're getting married in Colorado but our reception is home in Minnesota. I have an account here on WW for all reception vendors/checklists and I used The Knot for all ceremony stuff (sorry if that's not appropriate to suggest here). It would be nice to be able to put in 2 dates, 2 locations etc.

And get the vendor recommendations/hiring bonus for both events, too! I hate to miss out on that, when we're just starting out, trying to afford a new household.

Ahhhhh, that explains a lot. My additional vendors won't come up in the search function, anyway, so I have had to track them separately.
