Two-Person Ceremony Reading Suggestions?

Courtney, on December 27, 2013 at 2:25 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

Does anyone have a suggestions for a two-person ceremony reading? We'd like to have both reader do parts of one reading. It's our only reading, so it can be a little longer (but nothing over 2-3 minutes, please). I'd prefer something secular, but am open to any suggestions at all.

It was important to FH and me to have the reading done by a couple whose relationship was an example and inspiration to us. My dear friend from college and her FW have dealt with several blows over the last couple of years (cancer, family illness, career problems etc...) and have just been such a beautiful example of a couple supporting each other through hard times. They are getting married a month before us, and they've agreed to do our reading!

Does it have to be religious?

If not, perhaps a Shakespearean sonnet or two?

@Erica, no, definitely not. I would prefer it to be non-religious, actually. That's a good idea, I've been reading through some sonnets, but have't found one that I really like yet! Thanks!

The first 18 sonnets are written to a guy begging him to have kids so that his beauty continues, and the latter ones are about death. Stick to the middle ones. :-)

Sonnet 16. Leave out the couplet at the end.
