Two Maid of Honors

Claudia, on March 14, 2020 at 11:33 PM Posted in Planning 0 8
I have a dilema I’m struggling with. My little sister is 17 yrs old and will be 18 on our wedding day. I really want her to be my maid of honor because she’s my sister. I also have my friend who is older who I also want her to be my maid of honor because she would be able to go to my bachelorette party and be able to do the maid of honor duties and lives in the same state as me. Would it be appropriate to have my little sister as maid of honor and my friend also as a maid of honor or is that to much?

You can always have two maids of honor, but you should 100% be picking people based on their relationships with you, not how much they'd be able to do for your wedding/whether or not they'd be able to attend any pre-wedding events.

Well I want both of them because they are both very close to me. I would love to have both of them by my side. Me and my fiancé are the godparents to my friends child and we recently have been getting really close. My little sister is always going to be in my life no matter what.

I chose my two closest cousins to be my MOHs and it worked out great. One is older than me and is more involved with planning where as the other one is younger and not as involved.

It’s fine to have two maids of honor, but it’s not appropriate to make someone your MOH because you think they’ll throw you parties.

Maybe I should edit my post to not say that because I didn’t mean it like that I meant she is here to give me opinions in person with the planning situation. The bachelorette party I’m planning and paying for. I just want in person opinions vs over the phone and my little sister is 17 so her taste is very different from mine
