Two hashtags?

Ryanne, on July 13, 2017 at 1:55 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

Just wondering if anyone has ever used/is planning on using two hashtags for their wedding? FH and I have a hashtag that we already use for everything so that we can keep using it and eventually be able to have an archive of everything (our family/kids, wedding, dating, etc.). I was planning on only using that one, partly because we couldn't really think of anything else, but also because I love our "forever" hashtag. But then one randomly popped into my head and I was like "DAMMIT, that's cute." And I sort of want to use both. Would that be too confusing? I really don't mind just sticking to the "forever" hashtag if that's the case.

Forever hashtag: #Zerciaga (combination of our last names)

Potential wedding hashtag: #BurciagasToBe

What a nice problem to have!

Hashtags are already confusing for people to have to remember exact spelling and phrasing. Don't add to the annoyance by having more than one.

I don't think many people would even use one.

Ok, good persepective! I'll most likely just use one of them then.

I think a small percentage will even use one, it seems very confusing to have two.

I think it could be confusing to ask people to use two, so I'd stick with one!

We actually ended up with two wedding hashtags. The official and appropriate hashtag we came up with together, and an unofficial hashtag one of the groomsmen came up with making a fart joke out of my last name Smiley smile

I could barely remember to use one.

Your "forever" tag would probably be best since it's one word and it honestly sounds like a real word already (albeit a foreign language). Still though, unless you have "use our hashtag!" signs EVERYWHERE, people will probably forget to use it. Don't be disappointed if that happens.

@WWLynnie That sounds like a good excuse to have had two, since it happened organically!

@LillyBean17 I'm definitely leaning that way. Especially since we (mostly me) already use it. People that actually pay attention to hashtags have a better chance of being familiarized with it.
