Two food trucks

PonyGirl618, on November 10, 2017 at 4:26 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 10

I'm having two lunch food trucks at my wedding. And one dessert food truck.

The dessert food truck is unlimited for everyone Smiley smile but for the two food trucks I'll pay per person. What is a tactful way of letting guests know to only get one meal from the food trucks?

Like it's either Mexican or pizza. Lol. I thought about guests choosing Mexican or pizza on the RSVP so maybe they get the hint it's one or the other? :-)

Put a meal or truck option on the RSVP

Definitely put the option on the RSVP, and if you do place cards of sometime, put their selection on the card to remind them what they ordered.

Put an option on the RSVP. But just know that those meals may be smaller than average. I know I wouldn't necessarily be satisfied with one dish from on food truck. I know for a fact FH wouldn't be

The food trucks would keep track. I’d pay a minimum amount for 30 guests and if they went over I would pay the difference. I agree it might be too hard

Well.. maybe like they do for a plated meal, have their choice stamped on their place card, and they have to hand the card over to someone when they get in line. No card, no meal

But I agree with PP, I'd make sure the portions are heavy

We were actually considering doing 2 food trucks as well (before we ended up going with a different venue that does catering in-house) and we were given the advice to plan for and order portions for about 75% of the guest count from each of the two trucks, because a lot of people tend to want to try both, so if it is in your budget, I would suggest doing that. Otherwise, I would say to do the rsvp selections as you would for a plated meal, but still order additional portions of each to ensure there is plenty of food just in case.

There will be 60 guests. They would both get paid for 28 guests no matter how little they served. If they serve 35, I would just pay the remaining 7 at the end of the night. Full serving meals Smiley smile actually huge meals lmao

Hi Giselle, if you are having 60 guests, why pay for 28 guests each cart? Is it for concern for no shows/there's no penalty for underestimating and you've budgeted for a full 60?
