Two Caterers?

Ja'Keia, on June 9, 2014 at 8:41 PM Posted in Planning 0 3

Next year I plan to get married in the Atlanta area. Tentatively in Wooodstock, but could change. I am from Detroit, and my fiance is from Houma, LA and is in love with crawfish so we are trying to bring some of home into our wedding with a crawfish boil. We are thinking of having about 150 people, but only about 40- 70 (tentatively) of them will be eating the crawfish. While the rest will probably opt for something else. The rest will prefer the "classic stuff" like buffet beef (blah). However, there aren't any caterers that I've come across that offer crawfish and beef. So I've been throwing around the idea of having two caterers. The crawfish caterer is not all that expensive. Also, if I only have to pay for beef (blah) for about 50 people at $22 a pop. It won't be as bad for beef for 150. Anybody ever heard of such a crazy idea? HELP!

I never heard of two caterers but I don't see why you can't do it. The only negatives I see is can you afford the added expenses and are you willing to deal with the coordination of an extra vendor? If the answer is yes to both then go for it.

I am using 2 caterers! I am having a hog roast at my reception, so I wanted a pro to do it. And I am using the preferred caterer for sides, and possibly a chicken option. Its not too difficult to coordinate. You just have to be specific on your needs with each caterer. Let them know you have another coming in, as well, so they don't flip a wig when two vans pull up. I think you have to do this to stay on budget and get exactly what you want/need for your dinner.

How many caterers have you talked to? We found an awesome caterer that sat down with us and talked about what we wanted, what we liked and didn't liked and then she came up with an awesome menu for us. She did a ton of research and we are having 3 different food stations with 3 completely different types of food. (Southern, Paraguayan, & Turkish)

She is in Chattanooga, Events with Taste is the company, not sure if they would travel to Woodstock or not, but maybe you could find someone similar.

Also, if you can't find one caterer, I say go with the two if it means you get exactly what you want! :-)
