The black tux has a burgundy suit!

I had a bride's man for my wedding and he just worn the same thing as the groomsmen. If you want something different that would make him stand out what about a different tie and vest since you are struggling with finding a suit or tux that would match your dresses?

We could do that, but I really don't want him to feel like just another guy in the bridal party. I REALLY want him to feel special since he's my maid of honor and my oldest friend. We might just custom order him one.

Of my 4 bridespeople, only one is a girl, and one is 14. We chose the adult sized suits first (from the black tux, but we went to a showroom to see them in person), then bought a kid's suit, then bought the bridesmaid dress. The kid's suit and the dress aren't exactly the same as the adult suits, which is *shockingly* okay with me. They'll be close enough that it will be obvious that they belong together. Plus, the flowers/boutonieres will help.


At the black tux, you can get a burgundy jacket with black pants, which might be better than an all burgundy suit is the color's not quite right. Alternatively, you could have him wear the same suit as the groomsmen, but put him in a burgundy shirt, which would stand out more than just a tie.

View Quoted Comment I personally don't think a suit is a way to make someone feel special. My bride's man gave a speech rather than my maid of honor because she hates public speaking. He also said the prayer at the wedding. I also gave him a shirt that said something like never thought I'd be a bride's man, but here I am killing it. To make him feel special I would give him something special or have him do something meaning as part of your wedding.

He's my maid of honor so of course I got him a really special gift he wears it all the time. I just don't want him to be confused for or for people to assume he's a groomsman. He's always been a key player in my life so of course I want him to stand out and really shine. So I think a fun Tux or suit would be a great way to do so without the confusion of who's side is he on. Especially since he'll be right next to me throughout the ceremony and while getting ready.

We had a bride's man and groomswoman and no one was confused by whose side they were on. I think finding something that matches the bridesmaids dresses exactly might be a challenge which is why I recommended a different vest and tie which might be easier to do than a whole suit.

If you like that idea, you could also consider having him wear a burgundy jacket with navy pants. Also, if you're even slightly interested in any of the Black Tux's item's, I would highly recommend emailing them to ask about options. Our situation was kind of complicated (even more so than what I described earlier) and I've found their customer service to be very helpful and not at all pushy. Even if you don't think you'll order from them, they'll probably be able to talk you through some options.
