Tux rentals other than Men's Wearhouse- Macy's?

Hollyberry, on April 4, 2016 at 9:47 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 14

I know I can look at the vendor section, and I will, but I was wondering on here if anyone has used a different tux rental place that the guys can use (preferably a chain, we have guys who live far too).

Anyone ever use Macy's tux rental? Our mall has that, we didn't realize it was a thing.

We want to look other places because Men's Wearhouse's prices just seem a little high to me. I had a $40 off each rental coupon and they still seem high ($230).

Online rentals like the Black Tux and Menguin. We used Menguin because we have groomsmen on three continents and Men's Warehouse wasn't an option. Not to mention we've had to use Men's Warehouse for friends' weddings and hate the customer service and the price.

Were looking at using Generation Tux, which is all online. It's $150 per tux and grooms is free with 5 other rentals. If you message customer service they will set up an at home try on for $40

I don't know where you are at, but after we got the crazy price from Men's warehouse, we checked at local places. They were about 1/2 the price and had the option for out of state people to get fitted all over the U.S.

I think we're going with The Black Tux for convenience. FH's groomsmen live in WV and two of them are an hour away from the closest Men's Wearhouse. I'm going to look at Menguin too though since a couple people mentioned it in this thread.

My FH went to a local tailor who is affiliated with Jim's Formalwear. His out-of-town groomsmen was able to get measured by someone local to him, but I think his actual tux will be coming in to the same place as everyone else's.

Jim's Formal Wear has great coverage too - we weren't going to have our guys drive 2.5 hours to the nearest MW. I also had a $40/off each rental coupon - just printed it online. Bit cheaper than MW.

I'm using Friar Tux but I think they're CA only. But I've had the best experience with them. Smiley smile Frankly anyone but men's warehouse is what I've been told

I forgot about the coupon for Jim's Formal Wear- the affiliate that my FH went to offered the coupon price for everyone, they didn't even have to show the coupon.

I have personal reasons I would never do business with Mens Wearhouse- it's because I went to a large bridal expo last year and the rep physically shoved my best friend aside to get to me when he saw that she wasn't a bride.
