Turning invitations into postponement/new date announcement?

Harmony, on July 9, 2020 at 9:54 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 14

Hello, all!

So here's the deal - I ordered my invitations and then the very next day, Arizona set a new order for no events larger than 50 people "until the end of July" But that's only giving my guests a month to prepare for my September wedding! Additionally, my venue (who has been super supportive throughout the pandemic) said it might be time to consider postponing.

So now I've got all these invitations because it was too late to cancel them but we have officially decided to postpone. Has anyone turned invitations into postponement announcements or change the dates? We were thinking about getting a stamp that says "POSTPONED" and then writing our new date or adding a change the date card. Or using white out and writing a new date. Any ideas or thoughts??

I had a friend who had messed up invitations were the date was printed wrong and he ended up just literally having a LabelMaker and printing out brand new date labels and just sticking it onto the card

I think the postponed stamp with a change the date card is a funny, lighthearted idea. I would personally probably do that if we were to postpone.

Yes! I love it lol. I'd crack up getting that stamped invite (even though I would know how bad it sucks to have to postpone).

I emailed the site I ordered mine from to see if I could get a free of charge reprint if my date changed and they did since they had done this for all the spring brides. If this isnt the case for yours then the stamp would be cute idea and crossing out the date would go along with it being marked up!

I would get a kick out if the postponed stamp if I was a guest. As Denise said, you may be able to get free reprints too, it never hurts to ask.

I got mine from Minted and they said they couldn’t reprint or refund but they offered a coupon for 75% off the next order which is really nice of them I think!!

I like the postponed stamp. I wouldn’t white out the date.

I actually really like the stamp idea and I might need to steal that. I ordered all our stuff through zazzle and I believe I’m getting everything reprinted for free. Their website shows that that offer expired but I’ve been emailing them, so fingers crossed!

We ordered invitations from minted.com. We postponed after invitations were already mailed, but I contacted minted and they re-printed all of my invitations at 75% off. Considering your timeline I agree with the comment above, reach out to your printer and see if they will re-print. If not a big stamp or a big sticker would be really cute
