Tungsten VS. Ceramic Wedding Bands

I just found out that ceramic bands are a thing. My FH insists on a tungsten ring, because of how durable they are and how much recreational stuff he does....he's from Alaska, so he's EXTREMELY outdoorsy. However, I just heard that you could lose your finger if your ring finger ever gets caught in...

However, I just heard that you could lose your finger if your ring finger ever gets caught in anything. I know it's probably not very likely that will happen...I just want what's best for my FH haha Does anyone have any insight on ceramic rings? Do you love them or hate them?

FH is considering tugsten versus white gold. He wants the durability, but is concerned about not being able to have it sized (i.e. if he loses.gains weight or wants to pass the ring down to future family members). That being said, no matter what ring he gets, he plans to take it off while working with machinery, on the cars, etc. We both plan to get chains to put them on so we can keep them with us.

I'm glad this conversation came up; I've learned a lot about different types of bands!

@Bailey - thanks for the resource! I think FH wants to get his from the same jeweler my ring(s) come from, and they sell Triton brand, which apparently also has a life-time size program. I'l let him know about this one, too!

Side note: I wonder if most tungsten ring manufacturers include this as an option, since they can't be resized? If not, they should!

We are getting silicone bands in addition to our regular bands for tennis and kayaking. FHs real one is tungsten for durability though.

Another vote for getting both a tungsten and a silicone band. Silicone rings are really ideal for everyday wear.

My hubby works on stairs, he has a silicone ring for work, (his request) then a tungsten for after work
