Tungsten rings from Amazon?

ENG, on August 10, 2016 at 8:20 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 30

So I had been pretty set on buying a tungsten band for FH off Tungstenworld after many, many recommendations. Prices were VERY fair compared to the stores we'd been looking at, and the wonderful sizing warranty. But I was browsing Amazon and found a shop called "King Will" with tungsten bands for only $20, with the same comfort fit. Almost all have 5 star reviews, but I sometimes don't trust those haven't been paid for. Does anyone have any experience with buying one of these? It just looks way too good to be true..

I bought DH's ring off amazon. I don't remember the shop, but it was $14 plus shipping. It is a nice quality band and he hasn't had any problems with it.

I suppose for $20 it wouldn't hurt to order and see? I just know nothing about tungsten other than FH being so insistent on it, so I would have no clue if it was of good quality.

I paid $300 for FH Tungsten band, but maybe it was that much because we had it made from a jewelry store.

DH bought his band from Amazon for like $15 and it's really nice. He says it's really comfy to wear and fits perfectly

My coworker bought her husbands tungsten band off amazon for like $10 and she said it was the quality you'd get from the jeweler. I mean. If it's not good, it's only $20.

Just received FH's bands in the mail today from Amazon. They look fine, hopefully they fit true to size. He picked out the metal one... I think it was titanium? And then I decided to buy him a silicone one just in case he decides he wants to wear a ring at work. I paid $20 each.. Seems like a deal to me!

Bought my FH a ring off amazon and he's had no issues with it! Usually if you check the reviews it will have "verified purchase" next to them if they're real.

@DarthRabbit thanks! I've never looked out for that, I usually look out for the reviews with photos to actually show the product in real light with no editing. Some had shown comparisons next to actual 14k gold, so I'm almost confident!

But for $20 I suppose it's nothing to lose if it ends up lasting for a long time.

DH has a tungsten band from Amazon too. I think it was just under $20. He says it's very comfortable and it fits him well. Worth it to try it for $20. If you like it, you just saved a bunch of money on going to a jeweler.

I didn't buy FH's wedding band from Amazon, but I did get him a tungsten ring for his birthday one year. It was from Amazon and there were no issues with quality.

Beware the tungsten ring.... FH was wearing his and thought it would be fun to "wave like an idiot" (his words) at someone coming through the door at work. I hear a clang against the tile floor. It was his ring, which had flown off. He went and picked it up, put it back on, and we didn't think anything of it (after a dirty look from me, lol).

Cut to a few hours later, we're driving home. I was holding his hand in the car and started picking at what I thought was some substance on his ring.

    It was a crack.

    Almost all the way through.

I flipped out a little. Lol.

Glad this happened before the wedding, and we have a lifetime warranty (with a $40 deductible). But still. ... I was not pleased.

    So, just be aware. Lol.

Fakespot is a plugin that will tell you if the Amazon reviews are legit or not. For $20 though?! Risk it! We paid $350 for FH's tungsten carbide ring (and lifetime warranty)

My husband has a king will one, he purposely got tungsten because it will break under pressure which he needs for his job. He doesn't like wearing rings so he doesn't like it lol. But the ring is fine. He plans to get a tattoo eventuality. The ring is good quality though and arrived on time.

My husbands ring is from King will!! It is the real deal!!!!! We even got it engraved (or etched I think it's called bc you can't engrave tungsten) and the jeweler said it was great quality!!! So far so good. He even goes in the pool with it.

    Def recommend
