Tulle bottom bustle

Meagan, on July 4, 2017 at 12:53 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

My dress has a gorgeous tulle bottom. The boutique said they'll need to add loops to the dress for the bustle but don't have any pictures of what it'll look like. Has anyone else here added a bustle to a tulle bottom and do you have pictures? I'm afraid the loops will be obvious against the sheer tulle.

I don't have any pictures of mine, but had loops added for the bustle. I could see the ones on the top layer, but not before I put the dress on and was that close to it. It was worth it to have it bustled!

My dress was almost entirely tulle on the bottom. My seamstress added tiny loops to put up the bustle, but they were so small that both my MOH and DOC had to get almost nose-to-nose with the dress to find them.

The first picture gives you an idea of the length of my train; the second is about as good a look at my bustle as I have.

ETA: The nice thing about tulle is that it's really light, which means there's less chance of your bustle falling (if it's attached securely). The thing I didn't realize until the day of the wedding is that tulle also tends to rip. My advice is to have a sharp knife or pair of scissors handy just in case. I only had to do this once, because I stepped on one of the bottom layers as I was walking, and it was sort of fluttering by my feet. But I wish I had known that prior; I'd have stashed some scissors in my emergency kit.

I haven't seen mine finished yet but here's a pic of the bustle pinned at my first fitting. I was so nervous because I've seen some terrible looking bustles on tulle dresses. And my dress has a beast of a train. I feel much better about it now just hope it doesn't take 2 hrs to bustle it. Haha

My friends sister had a dress with a long train and the seamstress showed her how to put it up. At the wedding day my friend did not find the hooks that`s how invisible they were.

My skirt on the dress was a really sheer silk-not tulle...but I had loops added for a bustle and they were totally not noticeable.. they are pretty small and if your skirt fabric is full and lays right, the loops can be hidden down in the folds where the fabric gathers.

I just had my alterations appt last Friday and what type of bustle she did I do not know but my skirt is a tulle skirt and I love how it turned out! She probably added about 15 points at the top of my skirt under the bow and folded them into each other. What I like it is gives me a little bit more of a butt! LOL!

The picture is a little far away but hope it helps!

And this is my dress after being bustled. I think I had 10-12 loops.

Mine weren't visible (seven point bustle on tulle). We actually had to do some digging through all the tulle to find all of them because they were so small.

My dress was one mass of tulle and they did small loops and buttons as my bustle - it had 8 points. First picture is bustled, second is without the bustle. I couldnt even tell it had a bustle in my opinion, I loved it.
