Tuesday To-dos!

Nicole, on June 2, 2020 at 1:22 PM Posted in Planning 1 8

As states begin opening back up, I'm seeing more and more people continuing to work on their wedding planning. What's on your wedding to-do list today (or coming up soon)? My FH and I are still planning on our July 11 date, so our next to-do is to get our "What Do I Need to Know" list to our coordinator and meet with her. Our venue is on the verge of opening back up (outdoor historical museum), so I'm hoping to be able to walk the grounds with her so we can get a visual of how everything will be. I also have my second alterations appointment on Saturday and our RSVP date is coming up in a couple weeks, so I'm sure I'll need to track down some guests when that day comes. What are you all working on this week?

This past weekend my family and I made a bunch of centerpieces and decorations, I got my tour of the venue booked, and my first alterations booked today. This week I’m working on getting a list of questions for the venue since this will be the first time my mom and MOH see it and Will probably be the last time they see it until they come down for the wedding in September.

My bridal shower is this weekend; I'm super happy that we didn't have to move it date wise. We had to change the location twice; one restaurant told us in February before the pandemic started that they wouldn't be to host it (this is also where the rehearsal dinner is supposed to be that will probably be changed due to this). Then the other place isn't comfortable having 20 folks in a dinning room. So we found a local pub and grill to host; it might not be exactly what I had in mind but hey if I get to eat greasy bar food and pizza I'm good with that lol. Other than that waiting for a call from my venue I just want to go over their guidelines again. I'm also praying that Men's Wearhouse opens ASAP. But all of my appointments are booked for fittings and hair. Invites are ready to be sent.

We postponed our wedding, so we still have to inform a few of our guests and then see to it that we get new invitations printed!

I need my FH to take the groomsmen for suits. I am purchasing all our little decoration pieces. I need to do my first dress fitting. Need to order invites. We have to meet with the caterer to pick which food we want to serve (the closer the wedding gets). Our date is set for November 7, 2020.

I will be buying little decor items here and there, start on designing our invitations, and researching bakeries for our cake Smiley smile

So exciting!! Next week I’m going to visit my parents (we live in Colorado but are getting married in New York State) and I’m going to make a wand/basket for our flower girl to carry (she’s only 2!), and start putting together helpful baskets for the bathrooms. I forgot what they’re called - baskets with items like hairspray, deodorant, bandaids - things like that! Also might start ordering some lights to decorate the patio (our wedding is indoors but the venue has a gorgeous patio), and start putting together some other decor like a wedding sign, and order a guest book. We are thinking of ordering a large piece of wood for people to write advice on rather than a traditional guest book Smiley smile What about you??
