“try on at home” tux/suit?

A., on July 25, 2018 at 3:57 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7
Hi all,

what websites are your grooms using to have a suit sent to the home to try on? what’s the process like and have you had a good/bad experience? did he have to get measured at a store beforehand?

We haven't done the try on yet, but we are going to order them soon from Generation Tux & Black Tux. They have both been really great so far with sending swatches and customer service! My fiance knows his sizes for suits, so if your fiance knew them he wouldn't need to go in.

We did a home try on from the black tjx and had a good experience. They asked for alot of sizes and then calculate suit size!

We used the black tux and had a great experience. We started the process in October for our December wedding. We decided to measure my DH and his brother ourselves by following the video tutorial they have. It was easy to do and very helpful. DH got his tux to try on at home on a Tuesday and then you have to turn it in 2 days later on a Thursday (probably to keep you from wearing it to an actual event over the weekend for free!). Then we received the actual tuxes 2 weeks before the wedding. They came in very well packed boxes via FedEx. We rented the whole outfit which included: jacket, pants, shirt, socks (you keep these), shoes, bow tie, button covers and cuff links. My DH had to exchange his jacket and pants for a smaller size and this process was quick and easy too. We took pictures of him wearing it then submitted those pictures to their customer service email and described the fit. In 2 days we had the replacements. We were told to hold on to the wrong sizes and mail everything back together after the wedding. After the wedding you have 2 days to pack everything up in the box it shipped in, attach the postage-paid, pre-addressed label and drop off the boxes at FedEx. Done. It cost us about $195 for each whole ensemble.

We are using Menguin. They ask for some specifics and then sent a tux for FH to try. Everything was great except one thing. They fixed that, and we just got it yesterday. He tried it again and loved it. Our son is 5 and his fit great too. We have been happy so far.

We are using The Black Tux...have found them very helpful and the suits were good quality. The only bummer is some of their suits dont have a try on version, so say you want the non-navy blue, you won't see it till the wedding.
