Trusting the swatches? (Azazie dark navy/ink blue)

CoffeeNColor, on February 9, 2017 at 9:15 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

I've already done a search of the previous Azazie related posts.

Our colors were supposed to be Navy and white w/ silver and gold accents. We wanted BM dresses to be Navy because we love that rich midnight tone. I originally was going to go with DB's marine color. I want to do Azazie dresses b/c it fits the price point best and I've tead amazing reviews on here.

I ordered swatches in the Dark Navy and Ink Blue. When we got them, they both darker than anticipated. The navy looks almost black. However, when I look at the customer pics on the site (not the mannequin pics), the dresses photograph close to the color I intend. The Ink Blue photographs more green than I'd like.

Should I trust the swatches or the customer photos? Do the swatches look darker because it's such a small piece of fabric? Anybody use these colors and have feedback?

I got my bridal sample dress in ivory and it was a perfect match to the ivory swatch I got.

It's not navy but it's a good sign.

The navy blue swatch I got was a true navy in my opinion. Maybe you want more of a royal blue?

Did you try taking the swatches out into sunlight? Navy swatches are notoriously hard to look at indoors. Can you compare them to something else navy that you have already selected? This might be a little too sneaky, but can you take them to DB and compare to the marine?

I got Navy swatches as well and they didnt look black to me..... maybe you should order a sample dress for one of your BM's to try on and see how it looks that way.....

I will try again and take the swatches into daylight tomorrow....Daylight is a relative term in Seattle as it's nearly constantly cloudy and grey here between October through July.

@FutureRand, I looked at the Royal Blue but didn't like it. It was too bright for me. And it reminded me of my junior formal dress.

Remember to only look at the layer of fabric you want, all of the fabric swatches together make the color darker

I just had a navy sample dress from Azazie. It is a true navy blue and not black.

This thread was exactly what I needed!! I, too, thought my swatches were super dark! If the dresses are going to look black unless in direct sunlight, these might not be my best fit in a dimly lit church!
