Trip instead of vow renewal?

Finally mrs.jkr, on September 29, 2021 at 10:32 AM Posted in Planning 0 4
I was planning on doing a big party for 10th anniversary, but my husband and I both want to travel more and I cant figure out how to save for a "vow renewal" and traveling. We were going to have a hades and persephone theme and I thought.... why not have our travel that year be a trip to Greece? We can do a photoshoot and a private vow exchange? My husband is a teacher and I stay at home (but can do part time work) were planning a month trip to London in 2023 so why not do a month in Greece in 2025?

We didn't get to travel much at all when we were young because of college and im disabled so a lot of our money went to medical because we didn't have good jobs or good insurance. Now that we can travel we are planning on doing bug trips where we get month rentals and cook in home and explore much like a local. Thoughts?

Hah! Yeah. We were only planning a week in London and then I found that a lot of month rentals are almost the same price as a week in a hotel, so why not stay longer? Also helps since travel takes it out of mhle with my disability so if we were only there a week I would spend half of that week sleeping and recovering.

I would personally always go with a month long trip than a big vow renewal. I feel like it allows you to reconnect as a couple and spend tha quality time you may be missing with the hectic day to day life at home. Those memories and moments to me would be more precious than a traditional vow renewal. If you are stuck between the two, ask yourself what you would gain from either option and see which stands out to you. Another good trick is sometimes to flip a coin. If you find yourself hoping for a certain outcome, then you know which choice you prefer.

Fair, fair. We can always do a "vow renewal" while on the trip. If we want people there we can even do a zoom thing if needs must.
