Tree/Shrub Like Centerpieces (I don't think it's manzanita?)

Brittany, on April 1, 2017 at 1:35 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 22

I'm looking to use tree/shrub centerpieces that are skinny and tall but spread out at the top. I found pictures of something similar and I've been searching through google and pinterest to find an answer but no luck. I keep finding manzanita branch centerpieces but they aren't quite what I'm looking for. Does anyone know what they used to make these centerpieces or a shrub/tree that would be similar?

A lot of us today are posting similar themes for our centerpieces! I've seen what you're wanting but I am unsure of the name! Hopefully some vendor comment!

Yeah I'm pretty sure that's manzanita that you posted but what I'm looking for is more like a thick base with branches at the top (I'm sure there are shrubs like that, I just haven't had any luck) and manzanita branches are all over the internet and they are similar but are more "branchy"? LOL I feel like they would be too big to see around. It doesn't have to be that same one as I posted, just a shrub/tree with a similar shape, I'm trying to avoid having a wide centerpiece and would prefer a wider top with a sturdy base.

Those are really pretty, but how do people at a table talk to each other through them?

If you look at the height of the table and the chairs you can see that the top would be higher than the guests head. That's why I'm hoping to find something different to the manzanita branch centerpieces that are all over. I feel like they would be too wide.

Are you looking for something like this...a bonsai tree? Based on your description this is what I thought of...

Similar, I thought of that too but I think what I'm looking for is taller. I honestly have no idea how tall bonsai trees grow but the ones I've seen are small. I'm starting to think that whoever made the centerpieces I posted may have manipulated them from branches but I'm being hopeful to find a plant that looks similar to those pictures.

When I zoom in, they don't look like real flowers - it's a bit blurry but they look like a wire vine going up and the little flowers look fake...

Yeah I didn't think it was real either, I'm just trying to figure out if they used a real plant and added to it because I just want a good idea of a base to start with. It would be kind of cool to use a real shrub or tree that you can plant after your wedding.

I like this, I don't think it's a shrub though- I think the florist did this-

Hey I'm looking into stuff like this as well (I actually have a thread going right now about it) and I'm almost 100% sure that these are manzanita trees. They come in various heights. And it just looks like the florist added greenery/moss and flowers and made it full up too. It's a very pretty look actually.

Most trees and shrubs that boom are perennials which you could plant- but the also have a very short flowering time- you could call a local nursery to ask an expert... I'm into hosta and have many different varieties- I plan to have them in pots at my wedding so I can plant later- I'll be going to my favorite nursery.

I agree. Can't find any information on the internet and not sure what to call it. I plan to talk to a nursery first to see if there is anything like those that can be used as a centerpiece that can be planted afterwards. If not I guess I could talk to our our venue's florist about it but I don't even know what it would be named. Thank God for pinterest! I was hoping someone would know what to call it besides "flower tree" LOL. I would love to make it instead of asking a florist to because I'm sure it's expensive and I'm a creative creature who loves to design things myself.

I searched flower tree flowers on branch and flowering vine and didn't find anything either!! Lol. It could be a vine wrapped around cool branches from another type of tree...

Manzanita trees all seem to have more branches but I guess it's possible they used bigger branches or young trees to make these. Most of the manzanita branches you can buy online are all skinny and have lower branches and are more wide than tall. I wish I could find a "how-to" on this specific look.

Part of it looks like an orchid tree. I would bring this to a florist - they would be able to figure it out!

You could use grapevine and wrap it up a pole or stand to mimic a tree.
