Traveling to Italy!!

Katie, on January 31, 2020 at 6:14 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 5
Hello fellow brides (and maybe grooms) to be!

First Congratulations!!!
I just want people’s opinions on this! I’m completely torn!
My fiancé, his sister, and her best friend and I are doing a spontaneous trip to Italy to get away! We are going to Rome and Venice with a day trip to Florence.
I’ve traveled a lot and I’ve always been advised to not bring anything important with me. So with that said.....do I wear/ bring the engagement ring or leave it at home?!
Thank you!!!

I'd leave it at home! Just buy a fake.

If you bring it, don’t plan on taking it off and make sure it’s snug. I’ve heard italy is known for pickpockets

I would never imagine not to bring my ring 🙈 Italy is a normal place like any other. Of course if you are someone who will walk around acting like a lost tourist who is not aware of their surroundings, you can become the object of pickpockets but I would never even think to leave my ring at home. If you're really ever uncomfortable in a situation you can just put your hand away...

We honeymooned throughout Italy and I wore my wedding band only. Other cultures do not have as fancy engagement ring tastes as Americans and I try to blend in with the crowd when traveling on vacation.
