Traveling to go dress shopping

I am flying from Atlanta to San Francisco in September to go dress shopping. My best friend is flying in also from Austin.

Has anyone traveled to go dress shopping? I know people do it to go to Kleinfields. But I am kind of on an opposite quest - I am flying to go to a Bridal Salon with dresses at a big discount.

Tell me your stories! What did you wish you knew before you went? What did you wish you would have brought with you? How difficult was it to bring the dress back?

I didn’t purposely travel for dress shopping but I moved across the country after I bought my dress. My mom picked it up and sent it to me via fedex with no issues. I think it was $52

I traveled about 2 hours. . .mostly because there are only 2 bridal salons in my area. . .just also happen to be where my parents & FMIL live. I made a day of it and we had a blast!
If you have time and are willing to travel to Sacramento (about 2 hours from SF) check out Misoa Bridal Salon - they have an awesome selection, about 1600 dresses.

Hey there!! How exciting to be planning a dress shopping trip! I would imagine that you can’t wait! Will it just be you and your friend there to go shopping?

We invited the other bridesmaids, but it looks like it will be just us. We are making the most of it and going to a baseball game while we are in town as well. Very excited!
I definitely want all over lace and I think I want mermaid or trumpet silhouette.

So we are going to this salon specifically bc they sell their samples stupid cheap. I have been watching their inventory and I have a few favorites. But I am trying to not get too attached to any one dress bc it could be sold before I get there.
