Traveling after the wedding

Courtney, on November 20, 2015 at 9:05 AM Posted in Planning 0 5

I guess I never really thought about this until now but how does the bride deal with all the travel stuff after the wedding name wise. Like does everything stay in our maiden name since our ID's won't have changed yet? How do you go about that whole process and whatnot?

I didn't change my name until after I got back from the honeymoon. Also, you can leave your passport in your maiden name until you have to renew it or just make the passport change within 4 weeks of being married for no charge.

Yes, I kept all travel plans in my maiden name. We didn't even get our marriage certificate until after we came back from our trip.

Yeah unless your trip is a month or more after your wedding you will not have time to legally change your name and your name on any airfare tickets must match your ID

Yes - all your immediate travel plans should be under your maiden name! Nothing changes until you officially finish the name change process

All your travel docs. (ID and passport) has to match your legal name and need to match your airline tickets. So, don't change your name until you return from your honeymoon.
