Travel agent or diy

Glacier, on July 1, 2019 at 12:21 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 7
I’m getting married June 27, 2020 and we are looking at honeymoon options. The FH and I are debating whether to get a travel agent or just doing the bookings ourselves. We are leaning towards doing a cruise. What are you doing for your honeymoon....travel agent or DIY?

My mom is a travel agent, so I'm definitely pro travel agent haha. I will say it is pretty easy to book a cruise by yourself. There are a ton of options though, like different cruise lines being more luxurious than others. With the company my mom works for, it doesn't cost anymore to book through an agent, so that's what I always do.

    Diy.
I've traveled a lot and I always always do it myself. It can be exciting too to research and see what's out there

I say do your research and do it yourself. You have plenty of time to research and check out all of your options! Especially with a cruise I think that would be fairly easy to do yourself!

We decided to use a travel agent simply bc we feel like the wedding planning is enough planning lol. I will say however, that cruises are relatively easy to book and plan as we have done this a number of times. Good luck and enjoy!!

Travel agents are free to use and can insure that you're getting the proper insurance and can help in a crisis that may arise related to your trip where otherwise you'd just have to take the loss of $ if something happened.

After doing a little research, we may just book ourselves.

We booked our honeymoon with a travel agent! We found one through AAA. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! Ours was so helpful! I sent her an email with the dates we wanted, location, and a few excursion ideas. She ran with it and was just so so helpful. It saved us a lot of time researching and stress. She found us excellent flights at great deals. She gave us some great recommendations for hotels. And god forbid a flight gets cancelled or something you just call your agent! I have never used a travel agent before, but after this experience I would definitely not plan a big trip without one. We felt we were doing so much planning for the wedding and needed that burden taken off our shoulders.
