My venue is 1 hour from the nearest airport. My guests would fly from their local to my local airport (30 min from me and 1 hour from the venue).

There is a rental car place at the airport.
Am I required to provide some sort of shuttle from the airport to the venue/hotels?

It's definitely not required, but I'm sure your guest would appreciate it. How far is their hotels from your venue?

Generally people will rent their own cars at the airport.

Shuttle services at weddings are usually only between a hotel everyone is staying at and the venue. Save your money.

It's not required at all, but it might be a good idea to see if you could get room blocks at a hotel close to the airport that provides a shuttle to and from the airport & maybe look into getting the hotel shuttle to transport your guests to and from the wedding venue. If you're not able to get a shuttle to and from your venue, I would suggest trying to contact one of the rental car places at the airport to see if they can give your wedding guests a discount for rental cars for the week of your wedding. One of my husband's friend's did this for his wedding that we went to last year and it was great! We were able to get our rental car $100 less than if we just booked the car on our own. The only thing was, we had to book by a certain date and we had to pay at the time of booking - which was fine for us, but if you do it I would get all of the details and let your guests know ahead of time.
However, if you don't want to worry about transportation for your out-of-town guests, you don't have to. It's completely optional.
