That's entirely up to you. Of course it would be preferable for your wedding party and their dates, but it's not a necessity.

I agree with Caytlyn, it's all personal preference. I would say, however, if your ceremony and reception are in two separate places, I do not see an issue with your bridal party's plus ones driving to the reception location while you take photos with the bridal party. If your reception is at the same location as your ceremony, and if there is a cocktail hour, let the plus ones stay for the cocktail hour. I personally think it would be weird to have the bridal party's plus ones just standing around while photos are being taken.

If it were me, I'd have the plus ones stay at the reception site and enjoy the cocktail hour. That is, however, b/c my wedding and reception are at the same location.

If it’s just to go take pictures and return, I wouldn’t think to include the SOs. If you were staying on site for photos, I wouldn’t expect the SO’s to be hanging around, I’d expect them to be off enjoying cocktail hour. I understand not wanting the SOs to be uncomfortable, but as long as you’re taking pictures with the BP, they’re going to be on their own anyway.


As a *date* , unless I knew absolutely no one, I’d almost always rather enjoy the party than stand around watching people take pics
