Transportation for the bride

Yolanda, on June 28, 2019 at 2:22 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
Hello all,
I'll be getting hitched on April 25 next year. My Aunt wants to pay for my transportation. I hadn't even thought about how I would be getting to my venue from the hotel. Do I leave with my bridal party or do I go solo? I'm honestly asking because I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do. Has anyone else had this issue?

Either is a good option! Do you want more of a get-a-way "just married" type of a car with just you and your hubby or do you want more of a party bus with all of your friends? I think that if there's a lot of traveling between hotel, ceremony site and reception site, it's nice to offer a bus to your bridal party, but not required.

It depends if you’re bridal party is getting ready with you at the hotel and how far your venue is from the hotel. If they leave to the venue with you and leave the car in the hotel how are they getting back to the hotel? How are they picking up their car? If this is something close and easy I say bring them with you for moral support and to have that extra time with them as is always easier if they don’t have to drive. If your venue for ceremony and reception is in the same location fine but if not also consider you might leave to reception with your husband and how do your girls get to the reception?

We will all get ready at a hotel and it's about 15 minutes from my venue The ceremony and reception is at the same place. Good question. I have 6 bridesmaids, no of us have cars big enough to carry us all, my Aunt has been insisting on a Limo or bus, but now I'm thinking about getting them back to the hotel if we all ride together. Thank you though, this helps.

You could use Uber or Lyft. It wouldn't cost that much for such a short ride. Usually limos have minimums, like 4 hours you have to pay for, even if you only need it for a fraction of that time. The hotel where we are getting ready is only about 5 minutes from the venue, and so I'll probably hitch a ride with one of the bridesmaids. Then at the end of the night Hubby and I will take an Uber or Lyft to our hotel (different than the one from earlier in the day).

We own a dodge durango. Fits 7 people. Maybe like 5 if I'm in my dress. Anyway, we aren't renting anything because it's not in our budget, plus it's such a short distance. However, if I had it my way? I would rent a limo for the wedding party.
