So my fiancé and I are getting married this July, we will be getting ready with our wedding party at the venue where our reception and ceremony is. We live about a half hour away from where our venue is. My question is what did everyone do as far as transportation? We are planning on being at the venue to start getting ready at 8 AM where we will stay for the whole day, we have reserved hotel rooms at a hotel just a few minutes down the road from our venue but I’m worried about people drinking and driving.. i have thought about getting a trolley for our wedding party to get dropped off in but then i worry about transportation for our party the day after the wedding? Hope this makes sense!! Thanks in advance

Does your hotel offer a complimentary shuttle to guests? I would ask if they could arrange a shuttle service for the guests who have rooms in your room block if the hotel has a shuttle. If they do not, I wouldn't worry about transportation in a large city. We are used Uber/Lyft at many weddings recently and it didn't bother FH or myself one bit. If you are having your wedding in a smaller city where Uber/Lyft is not available and the hotel does not offer a shuttle then you might want to consider a transportation option for your guests. You also don't need to worry about what your wedding party is doing for themselves the day after, they can figure out how to get home/back to vehicles. You just enjoy yourselves the day after the wedding.

We got married in July 20, our venue was 30 minutes from our blocked hotel (pretty much everyone was in the hotel). We had a bus take the bridesmaids & me & moms in the morning for getting ready at 9AM, the groomsmen & groom & dads came at 2 PM, and the guests all came at 4:30 PM in two large buses.
