Train or no train

Vanessa, on January 24, 2022 at 11:04 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18
I’m so stressed. My ex bridesmaid really rushed me and made me feel I had to buy a dress there and now or she wouldn’t go with me again. I’m having a wedding on a farm and got a dress with a cathedral train…. I feel the dress doesn’t go with my venue at all. I’m honestly to the point where I hate it, it’s way too fancy for a barn. Do you think I keep the train or remove it. Because of this im starting to get FOMO about literally everything. I don’t know what to do and literally want to cry any help will be appreciated, Thanks Smiley smile first one is me in the dress second one is of the trainTrain or no train 1

This is my venue so you can see how rustic it is compared to my dress Smiley sad

That dress looks beautiful on you, and that train is gorgeous!! If the only reason you don’t like the dress is because you don’t feel it “matches” your venue, then I would let that go and rock that dress! You are the bride and expected to stand out! Your dress does not need to match the style of your venue; you just need to feel beautiful in it!

How many more times in your life will you get to wear that gorgeous of a dress with a train like that?? Wear it! No one will be thinking, "Wow her dress doesn't match this venue". lol. You look amazing, please don't cut that train Smiley smile

Wedding planning can be so stressful and we start to second guess ourselves (or at least I definitely do), you are the bride and can wear whatever your heart desires. Your venue and that dress both look amazing. If you love the dress absolutely rock it you look stunning in it. Good luck!

I think your dress looks beautiful and if you like it without considering the venue then that's all that matters! I'm getting married at a barn venue and my dress is a sparkly ballgown. I think both your dress and the pictures of your venue all look very romantic and the lace in your dress adds to a more "rustic" feel which ties it into your venue. I would say don't cut the train and rock that dress the way it is!

Another vote to wear the dress and keep the train! It's beautiful! And, I don't think dresses need to match venues, but even if that were a thing, I actually don't think your beautiful dress looks too out of place with your venue anyway - the trees are quite grand and I think you need a bit of a train for some drama! WEAR IT! You're going to look just beautiful.

Agree with all of the above!! You have a gorgeous dress, and you'll only have the train fully down for walking down the aisle and photos. They will add a bustle so it won't be down for the whole night. I wouldn't worry about what anyone things, nor would I even think people would have a second thought beyond how gorgeous that dress is and how beautiful you look in it. Smiley smile

Stunning!! It fits you so well. That train makes a statement & is beautiful! Also, I really like your venue; it’ll be so wonderful enjoying your special day outside in nature. Take a deep breath and enjoy the process, bride to be. 🤗 💗

I have been to close to 30 weddings and I never even gave a second thought about whether dress matched venue. Who cares? You look beautiful and your dress is gorgeous! Do not give it a second thought!

It’s beautiful! And it looks beautiful on you. Trust me I TOTALLY get it. This is my venue and ceremony site (obviously will have an arch and lots of aisle decor and this is my dress. It totally doesn’t feel like it matches at all. But I would 100% wear what you want! I’ve never thought about whether a dress matches a venue Train or no train 5

I had the same worry, my dress is very chic compared to my barn venue! I’ve decided I’m going to wear it because when I put it on it felt like the one! Wedding dress shopping was a terrible experience for me so I totally understand where you’re coming from! But I think that dress looks amazing on you and I think it matches the venue quite well! I’ve learned a lot of brides second guess there dress, you’re not alone!

First let me say you look amazingly beautiful in that dress! Secondly I totally understand you. I bought a dress and I love it but I'm second guessing myself as well but this is why most places don't do refunds or returns on the wedding dresses because they know our nerves are so out of wack that we second guess ourselves and others voices start to annoy us too. If you feel happy and beautiful as you look, then wear it like you're Queen Elizabeth getting married! You look amazing! Congratulations

I think dresses with a train always cause a little difficulty. Think over all the details, it may be easier for you to change this dress a little. It seems to me that you can take a second dress, which will be without a train and more comfortable.

The dress is beautiful and as long as you actually like the dress I think it will be fine at your venue!

I want to thank all of you! I don’t have much help with this whole wedding thing so it was really nice to hear all this positive stuff and how everything is going to be perfect. Especially with social media I keep comparing and putting myself down that it won’t be amazing. Thank you so much all of you. I think I just needed to hear that! Love all of you thank you💗💗💗💗

You look absolutely STUNNING!!! I can relate to you, I am also having a barn wedding and my dress turned out to be a little more formal that I was originally thinking but I love my dress and think I will be glad I chose it. Everyone else is right, your dress does not have to perfectly match the venue, what matters is that you feel beautiful and comfortable. And TBH I don't think your dress is too fancy, I think it nicely compliments your venue!

I think that dress is beautiful but I’m concerned that you felt rushed to buy something that you weren’t really sure about. But please note that dress looks amazing on you!

You look amazing in that dress!! It does suck that you felt rushed, so go in and try it on again (with someone helpful or alone) and record the feeling in the dress. Close your eyes and see if you can imagine walking down the aisle and saying "I Do" in that dress-- forget all external matters like venue matching and etc. Smiley smile
