Traditional cake versus cupcakes?

I don't think one is better than the other, but cupcakes are generally muuuch cheaper than a tiered cake.

We did a 2 tier cake and then a dessert bar with a bunch of different stuff to give our guests options. It worked out great!

I think cupcakes are a better/more even portion!

Cupcakes will avoid a vake cutting fee if your venue charges.

I think we're going to do the small cake to cut and then cupcakes. We decided this because a) it's cheaper and b) nobody will have to stand there and cut a cake half the night.

We ended up with a small cake for us and sheet cakes for the guests. It ended up being cheaper to get the sheet cakes than cupcakes and also cheaper than a huge tiered cake for everyone.

We initially wanted cupcakes for the price, but ultimately decided on a 3 tier cake because I fell in love with a design and we thought it would be a stunning centerpiece for our reception. So it’s all about which look you like better

I personally think it comes down to what you think looks better. If it's gonna cost the same for both, you can think about how maybe the look of a cake is more classic than cupcakes or you can think about how you could do more flavors of cupcakes than cakes or you can think about how cupcakes are easier to serve

If you guys don't care to have a big fancy cake then do what is cheaper. I went with the simple 3 tiered buttercream cake that our venue supplied. i didn't need anything fancy
