Hi all!

I recently got engaged on Sunday (02/23) at Disneyland at the Animation Academy! This was really special for us as my fiancé and I were both cast members and that’s how we met eight years ago was working at Disneyland together. We’ve still visit often from Phoenix and our whole house has a ton of Disney theming.
I have two venues really set in mind- one is here in AZ and is all inclusive for the package so includes venue, open bar, photography, etc. for about $15,700 for 75 guests. We’re aiming for between 50-60 guests. It’s a beautiful place and the vibe is what I’m going for, so it’s a great choice, but obviously at the back of my mind Disney is what both of us would really want if we can pull it off.
If I did a weekday wedding at one of the hotels at Disneyland, it’d be about $12-14k depending on the guest count and they do let you bring your own decor at each venue which is a huge thing for me as I’m super crafty. I would have to pay for things like DJ and photographer which is I know what can add up.
Just wanting to kind of vent and see what outsiders thoughts may be? It’d be mostly us doing the payments over time since I’m not 100% sure yet what our families will contribute.

I would do the first venue and just decorate and have Disney elements instead

    Congrats!

We got engaged during December at Universal but we met as CMs at Splash at WDW. Our plan is to choose a non-Disney venue here in Orlando or Alabama and include Disney things (we're adding Up elements)
We considered a DFTW but unsure with the new price restructuring!!

I would do the first venue and honeymoon at Disneyland or a different all inclusive resort or even do a Disney vow renewal in 5 or 10 years. I feel like you should have as many people for as little cost as possible for your wedding and you can do an intimate vow renewal for pricier when you have the ability to do so

While we were not ever cast members, Disney does hold a special place in our hearts. We are Florida residents, we were AP’s and decided not to renew when we got engaged. We totally contemplated a Disney wedding lol but it just was not in our price range for as many people that we needed to invite. My venue is all inclusive, and I am adding minor Disney touches so that way it doesn’t scream Disney and that no one would really notice it unless they really look lol. With that said we are planning to get the passes again and just honeymoon in Disney world. I hope this helped at least a little bit 😊 but I am sure that anything you choose will definitely be worth it!

I say if Disney is what you really want then go for it!!

I want a Disney Wedding and my partner and I are willing to be engaged for longer to be able to afford the wedding that I want. The way I see it is its better to wait longer and have what you want vs spending less money on a day I'll look back at with regret as I settled.
