Torn between two dresses

Norma, on September 12, 2024 at 3:16 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

I could really use some help! I tried on dress #1 early on, and it stuck in my head. I kept comparing everything to dress #1. (Excuse the pic quality, this salon had poor lighting.)

I tried on dress #2 several days later at a different salon and really liked it but decided that I had already made my mind up about #1.

I actually went to buy #1, but when I put it back on, I wondered about #2. I was handing over my CC for dress #1 when I panicked and left. I retried on #2 later that day, and I'm still quite torn. Hoping that hearing other peoples' opinions will cause me to feel defensive toward one dress.

#1 is more romantic, timeless and wedding dress-like in my opinion. #2 is more flattering to my body - I am much larger on the top, so the sweetheart neckline is feminine, and #2 shows off my waist and hips more. #2 is not insignificantly more expensive, but #1 will require much more tailoring (taking in the waist by one size and the hips by two sizes).

Based on my description, #1 sounds more like what I want. Plus, I was so certain about it before. But I panicked once and don't want to feel regret post-purchase. I'll be happy with either, I'm sure, but it's a big decision. THANK YOU!!

You have plenty of time to decide on the dress, even to the start of 2025.

The first dress appears better since the flower-like gathering stands out more distinctly. The little detail I would prefer is if the skirt did not seem to hang from that gathered detail. Instead, the skirt should be closer to your body underneath that.

Oh, I just love the first! I think it’s beautiful and elegant, and you sound so much happier about it. I think you should go with that one.

I just loved number 1 as soon as I saw it . Looked at them both a couple of times. I can see why you’re torn. I just love the creamy elegance of number 1. Good luck.
