My fh loves lace. Would you add something like
this over my dress? Or just let the simplicity stand out and skip having lace??

That’s so pretty. I think I’d want to see what it looks like with the lace

Maybe a brooch in the middle? Or a belt? Or add lace straps?

Maybe a compromise with a lace bolero that covers just your shoulders and arms but doesn't take away from the dress. You can remove it whenever you wish.

I would let it stand as it is - he's going to think you're beautiful regardless of what his style preferences are because you're his bride. H told me all of these things he liked/didn't like about wedding dresses (I forced him to watch say yes and four weddings before our wedding) - and some of them were things that my dress had/didn't have. When the day came, he cried as I walked down the aisle and after the wedding (a few weeks later) said he couldn't imagine me in anything else.

Maybe get something lacey and cute for *later*?

I really like the simple dress as it is. I also like the lace jacket thing, but I don't think it would make your dress better. How to you feel about wearing a veil? That could be a good way to add some lace.

Maybe a compromise (that adds lace but maintains the simplicity of the dress) is to line the under part of the skirt with a really nice and sturdy lace. Since it’s a high/low style, the lace would be seen just enough to be noticeable, but not overwhelming. Similar to this pic but minus the blue color (even though I love the blue and have had this pic saved for a few years).

Another idea with the sheer lining hanging a little longer than the dress. You could do something similar with lace. Topper? Photos!! 4

Oooh. This is pretty!! Can you see my last comment? The applique could be split and placed around the hem... Thoughts??

Yes! I think the appliqué would be nice around the hem. But it would be a cute and unexpected surprise underneath too! I think I prefer that peek-a-boo concept of it under the skirt because it doesn’t change the outside of the dress. I think you’ll know for sure once you can hold it up to the dress.

Do you think a solid flat lacewould be better? I have shoes with rhinestones and pearls... They are in champagne which looks nude on me.

I actually like the lace you have because of the fun textures and dimensions and it isn’t just flat lace. Since the front of your dress falls below your knees, just enough will show underneath without it being too much. Also I think the shoes tie in nicely with the textured lace and because the outside of the dress doesn’t have any designs. Now adding a nice necklace (possibly with rhinestones and pearls like the shoes) will be perfect!

I’m no seamstress. But one thing that comes to mind is making sure the lace still allows your dress to flow and ripple properly at the bottom. If that specific lace doesn’t work I still think a textured lace with design will give a more couture look than basic lace.
