Too tall?

Denyse, on September 13, 2022 at 12:44 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7
Our wedding is 10/7/22! My fiance and I are about the same height but with my beautiful sparkly 3.5 inch heels I feel like I tower over him! Any other brides have this problem too? Should we worry about it?

I will be taller than my fiance at my wedding. I'll be wearing 4" heels. We're not worried.

I don't think it's a big deal. If it does really bug either of you though, your fiancé could get a pair of shoe lifts to try to mitigate the difference.

Will you have steps leading up the altar? There may also be options the photographer can work out for the pictures. It should all be fine whatever way you do things.

I'm 3 inches taller than my fiancé (I'm very tall). He's going to be wearing dress shoes and I'll be in the flattest flats I can find. Finding shoes has been a nightmare- even basic brands like TOMS or tieks add more height than I want

Why don’t you use your heels for photos (like Michael said) and have the photographer use angles and tricks that don’t make you look taller. If it’s a long dress, no one will see your shoes, so maybe wear flats for the ceremony and first dance where everyone will be intensely looking at you both side by side. Ultimately, if it doesn’t bother you, then you shouldn’t care what others might or might not think! You’re going to look amazing, so I wouldn’t sweat it.

My FW and I have this issue; she's 5'3" and I'm 5'7", and I wear heels while she never does. I wore big heels (probably 3-4 inches) for a photo session we did and the difference did end up being pretty noticeable... but 3 inches doesn't seem like that big of a deal. I think the bigger issue is whether you can move/dance together with the increased height difference. For example, we agreed that I'll keep my heels under 3 inches so we can twirl and dip each other during our first dance.

I've practiced our first dance in my heels many times and to be safe I decided I will not wear them. I do have flat shoes I plan on changing into but even dancing I those is tricky! I may just go the whole wedding bare foot! No one will even know!
