Too pushy with photographer?

My photographer said last week they'd look at their schedule for an engagement shoot. It's been 7 days and I still haven't heard from them. We already paid a huge chunk of the cost (more than the deposit) so I was hoping timely communication would be included, but now I'm wondering if I just have too high of expectations? I do know they were out of the country for a wedding recently, so I was patient during that, but they've posted a few edited images of that wedding now and it's been a couple days since even that. I emailed following up for scheduling. I completely understand life happens, I'm just torn between wanting sufficient communication and not wanting to be pushy.
