Too much Cleavage??

Veronica, on February 17, 2018 at 9:53 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 42
I need help. So I said yes to a dress and all my bridesmaids and mother loved it. But when I showed it to my mother in law she freaked and hated that my cleavage was so revealing. Does it look too trampy?

I think it looks fine. However, it is all about your comfort, it's your day, if you're happy with the dress then who cares what anyone else thinks!

It is noticeable but I don’t think it’s trampy. As long as you’re confident and comfortable that’s all that matters

I love it! it is your day and your dress. Unless your mother in law had financial input towards your dress the it's how you want it.

As a fellow member of the full cup club, I think it's perfectly beautiful. It fits your body gorgeously and flatters your neckline. As long as you love it, that's all that matters

Personally, I’d be worried about wearing a dress that shows that much but it’s up to you what you feel comfortable with.

The dress is gorgeous, but I do think that's a bit too much cleavage. Though, if you're not getting married in a religious ceremony, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Your dress is beautiful! I personally would not feel comfortable in it but if you do then you should rock it!

I think you look spectacular. The dress is so whimsical and romantic 😍. People get so obsessed with chesty people looking chesty 🙄 like it doesn't come with the territory. I wouldn't worry about it!

The dress looks great on you and in the end it’s what you like. Personally it shows a little too much for me.

Personally I don't have cleavage like that to show off but as long as you feel comfortable in your dress, that is what matters most... I think it is very tasteful and not trampy at all. You're rocking it!

I think it looks great and I wish I had some cleavage to show off! If you like it and are comfortable, rock it!

Side note: what's with all the opiniated MILs? I've read a few posts about MILs recently and more then one of them was about not liking the dress. They can tell their own daughters what to wear.

You look beautiful. I tried that same dress on at CocoMelody but decided against it because of that same reason. But if you love it, go for it. Your day. Your decision! 😊

I was thinking the same thing! My FMIL is outspoken and opinionated in general but never straight up mean!

If you are getting married in a church or temple, then yes, it's too low cut. The dress is gorgeous, and you look amazing in it. The veil is very traditional and I think covering up for ceremony would make the overall look very sweet, elegant and proper. Perhaps the dressmaker can add a piece of fabric that you can later remove for the reception. You could definitely show your "girls" off at the reception and feel sexy - no problem with that! Do whatever feels right.
