Is having 7 bridesmaids, 7 groomsmen, and 4 ushers too many people?

Can you afford that many? Don't ask anyone until 6 -9 months in advance

I personally think this depends on your guest list. 20 guests? Too many. 150? It's fine. Ultimately you want those nearest and dearest standing with you. Remember that the larger the party, the more money you spend. Also, don't ask anyone yet! You're too far out.

Yes. Too many... Unless your husband is a duke or some form of royalty

@Sqwiggy makes a good point. I had a large bridal party, and didn't really realize how much the gifts and rehearsal dinner add up to be!! Consider how much it will cost to invite all of them PLUS their SOs to your rehearsal dinner... just be aware of the costs involved.

I'm just saying that that is unnecessary.no one person can have that many people that are so influential in your life that they need to be at the altar during your wedding. Keep it simple, small, and personal. Just my opinion.

If that is what works for you, great. Don't come down on others for making different choices.

No Daniel, you may not have that many important or influential people in your life but some people do. I do.

OP, if you can afford it and your wedding guest size warrants it; go for it.

We're having 2 MOHs, 4 Bridesmaids, 1 best man, 5 groomsmen, and 2 ushers for our 170ish person wedding. There's a lot of cost involved. For my bridesmaids, I spent roughly $200 to ask them, & I've purchased $350 of robes. I'll buy each of them jewelry, wine, card, and probably a gift card as a gift. I'm also buying the groomsmen cards/socks (on top of what FH is,) and I'll pick up a gift for our ushers. We've budgeted around 800-1000 for BP gifts alone. The bigger, the more expensive.

@Daniel, we had 8 BM and 8GM which included our sisters (his and mine), our brothers (his and mine), and our closest friends. So yes, there are people who have that many important people in their lives - just not maybe you. That's fine.

@Megan, I'm not sure what the cake cutting toast is? Usually after the bridal party is announced and the best man and MOH have given their toast before dinner, that is the end of the bridal party "duties" during the reception!

    Cost.

    Gifts X 14

    Wedding meals X 14

    Transportation for at least 16

    Hair and makeup X 7

Rehearsal dinner X 28 for wedding party alone..

I have 7 bridesmaid/groomsmen. If I just did family I'd still have 5 of each.

We have 7. Is it a lot? Absolutely! Would I have it any other way? Nope! I was going to cut it off at high school friends (5) but I couldn't imagine my day without my college friends.... So 7 it is! Is it expensive? Hell yes. So I would definitely think about it before you decide to do it. It's s big commitment. But these truly are my best friends. I am happy to pay for their hair and makeup and rehearsal dinner. They mean the world to me.

But you definitely need to evaluate who you have and make a decision.

No one can answer this question but you.

as above- some people have many.

I have none- because 1 is pushing my "to many" buttons.

No one can make that choice for you.
