Too late for engagement pics?

Renee, on October 3, 2019 at 12:38 AM Posted in Planning 0 17
We weren't planning on having engagement pictures done. A selfie or 2 the morning we got engaged and I was happy. Plus our venue came with a photographer and it doesn't have engagement pics so no biggie. Well the more posts I see on here about them, the more I'm starting to regret not getting them done. We got engaged last Christmas and we're getting married in April. Is it too late?

You could always do a really informal one like a friend with a good camera taking it for you

I don’t think so. You’re still engaged, so if you want them, go for it! We got engaged last August and didn’t have them done until April. That was about half way through our engagement. Nothing says you have to get them right away. While you may not have them done to use on save the dates, they will still be great photos to have and look back on. I made photo books for both our mothers as a gift with ours. So if you’re thinking of Christmas presents, you could have something super easy this year!

Go for it! We got engaged January of this year (2019) and we didn’t do our engagement shoot until August of this year. And we’re getting married in January 2020. We also didn’t choose our date until September 2 (because we thought we would have a longer engagement, maybe two years), so we were able to use our engagement photos for our save the dates

I was thinking about doing that. I asked my sister's friend how much engagement photos would cost and he told me around $450. I was surprised they were so expensive. But maybe that's an average price?

Knowing other people didn't do it right away too makes me feel a lot better. Thank you!

I got my engangement pictures taken 2 weeks ago and im getting married in july 2020. I have been enganged for 2 yrs so it is never too late. I was not planning on taking engangement pictures but i say it is worth it. You also get to see how your photographer works and if you would want that person on the day of your wedding.

Unfortunately I wont meet my photographer until the day of my wedding. He comes with the venue package. I was able to see his work though, so that was a plus. I definitely want to get angagemnt pictures done. Everyone has all these great photos posted. I have someone in mind who might be able to do them as well

It's definitely not too late, you're still engaged aren't you? Smiley winking Lol you should definitely get them done if you're feeling regret about it, I love that we have the pictures from our shoot. It really started to make things feel real for me like "wow we're actually getting married"! You may not be able to use them for save the dates (plenty of people don't or don't send them at all), but you'd still have them for you and to share with friends and family Smiley smile I saw one bride on here a month or two ago who got theirs done like the month before their wedding!

Not at all! Its a great thing to do just to have pictures together that are professional plus they are only a couple hundred dollars so worth it in my eyes! We got engaged 07-03-17 and never planned to do professional engagement pics either but we decided after booking our photographer that it would be nice to have a trail with her to make sure we work well too/know what to expect from her for the wedding. It was awesome and worth it! We just got those done on Labor day Smiley smile then sent out our STDs so it was perfect and now we have tons of great pics to use when we get a house!

My fiance and I got engaged October 2017, we're getting married December 2020, and we're taking engagement pics November 2019. Its never too late. No one was around when we go engaged, it was just us two and our daughter so we have no pics, even the selfie was dark since we were on a pier at the night. Go ahead and do your photos and use them for your wedding so that everyone can enjoy them as well. Good luck.

As long as you're engaged still, I don't believe it's too late. I'm waiting to do engagement pictures until I have whiter teeth and less stress acne. (Who knows how long that will be)
