Too fat to look pretty

You are going to look Great!! You are going to find a dress that IS SO FLATTERING. Do not worry. What's your budget?

I understand you’re self conscious, but being a bigger girl does not mean you’re not beautiful. I strongly disagree with the title of this post and feel it can be very hurtful to others. If we could edit our posts, I’d urge you to do so but I don’t believe that has been enabled as of right now.

That being said, you need to go try on dresses in different styles. I was not confident in the slightest when I first went dress shopping and many dresses made me feel awfully ugly, but you will find a style that works for your body and it will make you feel amazing. You just have to start looking.

View Quoted Comment You're so welcome. So, step 1: find a retailer near you and ask them if they have dresses in your size in that budget. They might say the only have a few but that's okay. 2. Go to David's bridal online - sometimes their service sucks but their stock is usually really good. You can find dresses that you like and call your nearest store and ask them if they have those dresses in the store!! 3. You can find a dress that isn't a wedding dress that is Great- you could do a blush or lace ivory.

Also!! Use the vendor tab to find one! And use local Facebook groups to see if anyone has one posted in your size. Last but not least!!! You could get a custom skirt made. You can buy a dress like this and get someone to made a skirt for you (like I attached). I got a quote as low as $300 and that dress was like $30?

I am a plus size bride so I completely understand how you're feeling. It's exciting and nerve wrecking to think of dress shopping. I went to a plus size bridal salon and felt so comfortable and so beautiful. I never told my stylist my size and that was never a thing. Every dress I tried on fit (or was big) without a problem. I highly recommend looking for one in your area.

I never thought I'd get a mermaid dress because of my tummy but I felt sexy and beautiful and I know FH will love it.

Don't be so hard on yourself! It's easy to get caught up on the things that we're self-conscious about, but nobody (including YOU) has any business telling you you're not good enough or pretty enough! If you're concerned that you won't feel attractive in any of the dresses you try on, there are things you can do to help with that. When you go to try on dresses, do your hair and makeup however you feel most attractive. If you have a favorite bra and panties that make you feel special, wear those. Do your best to shut out negative messages whether they're coming from you or from others. Allow yourself to feel beautiful. You absolutely deserve it!

And once you've tried on some dresses, share some pictures here for feedback if you need help deciding. There are lots of people here who would be happy to help you find the dress that's perfect for you!

Your FH is marrying you because he loves you. You are the most beautiful woman in the world to him. So go shopping with that in mind. Also a plus size bride (do a search for posts- there have been many so you can see women are beautiful at any size!)

I am a 20 and went to a shop specializing in plus sizes, and every dress I tried made me feel beautiful. David’s also has a decent selection of plus! The shop I went to gave me a proper long line strapless bra to wear which I think helped a lot.

I'm a plkus size bride as well. I felt the same way you felt when I went dreess shopping. When I tried on this dress my confidence was very high and I no longer felt bad about myself.
